    Prepare yourself for a vibrant celebration of mixology, as alcoholic beverage company Diageo’s World Class Competition is making its comeback in Macau and Hong Kong this year, featuring exhilarating events and a top-tier bar lineup.

    This year, the competition will see 20 talented bartenders and mixologists from both cities competing to craft sensational cocktails using the Johnnie Walker Black Label and Don Julio. The competition will take on two themes, namely “Beyond Nightcap” and “2030 Margarita.”

    Twelve contestants will then be picked to participate in the semi-finals, happening in early June. One of them will ultimately take the crown and advance to the global stage at the World Class Global Final, taking place this September in Shanghai.

    To make the competition more exciting, liqueur connoisseurs are invited to delve into the cities’ mixology scene by visiting the event’s participating bars from nowuntil May 10.

    In Macau, participating bars include Aji, Aux Beaux Arts, Gordon Ramsay Pub and Grill, The Mews, and Vida Rica Bar.

    Meanwhile, Hong Kong bars featured are Lockdown, Argo, COA, Bar Leone, Mercury Recalls, Penicillin, Ozone, Dio Cafe Bar, 001 Bar, The Old Man Bar, Qura, and Gishiki Lounge.

    Heads up, whisky lovers! You can now get to taste and experience Johnnie Walker’s Blue Label, as the leading Scotch whisky brand has opened its new pop-up experience store at Galaxy Macau.

    Running until May 5, the Johnnie Walker Blue Label Pop-Up Experience Store provides a contemporary space for guests to enjoy the brand’s premium product range.

    The pop-up will showcase some of the line’s most exquisite liquors, including the limited-edition Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost & Rare Pittyvaich and Port Dundas, the extremely rare Johnny Walker Masters of Flavour 48-Year-Old, and the Johnnie Walker Blue Label Legendary Eight, among others.

    There is also an experience zone, where guests are invited to taste the brand’s Blue Label and the Johnnie Walker and Sons XR 21.

    A nice drink will not be complete without some good food, so the pop-up also collaborated with three renowned restaurants in Galaxy Macau to offer whisky pairing menus.

    The menu features Sichuan Sauteed Scallops(MOP588+) from two-Michelin-starred restaurant Feng Wei Ju, Yellow Croaker Braised in Roe Crab Stock (MOP888+) from Blossom Palace, and Steamed Roe Crab on Glutinous Rice (MOP888+) from Fujianese restaurant Putien.

    A complimentary engraving service is also available for customers purchasing any of the bottles showcased, plus an additional 200-millilitre Johnnie Walker Blue Label Bottle for those purchasing two or more bottles.

    Two renowned chefs are coming together to present a highly anticipated four-hands dining experience this May!

    Happening on May 24 and 25 at the Chef Tam’s Seasons in Wynn Palace, the exclusive collaboration will be helmed by the restaurant’s Executive Chef Tam Kwok Fung and Thailand’s renowned Potong restaurant’s very own Chef Pichaya 'Pam' Soontornyanakij.

    The two acclaimed chefs will be offering an exquisite collaboration dining experience, serving Cantonese-Thai fusion fares that will further solidify Macau’s position as the “Creative City of Gastronomy.”

    Chef Pam was recently named Asia’s Best Female Chef for 2024. Meanwhile, Chef Tam’s Chef Tam’s Seasons was awarded one Michelin star and nabbed the 49th spot on the prestigious 2024 Asia's 50 Best Restaurants list, making it "The Best Restaurant in Macau 2024."

    Bringing his expertise from his restaurants Hakkoku and Sushidan in Tokyo, this limited five-day omakase pop-up experience is a must-try for all foodies. Get a taste of his Akazu seasoned Shari (sushi house) composed of different well-aged red vinegars that complement the umami flavour of Neta (seafood topping). Experience all of these for only MOP2,188 per guest, with premium sake pairing for an additional MOP550.

    The tasty adventure doesn’t stop there, as the renowned Bib Gourmand-recommended Hide-Chan ramen by Chef Kawahara from Fukuoka is making its debut in Macau at Rossio from March 21 to April 7.     MGM Collabs with Pastry Master Angelo Musa for CHOCOL’ART Pop-up Series

    Indulge in chocolatey goodness as MGM joins hands with French National Pastry Master Angelo Musa for a three-day CHOCOL’ART pop-up series happening between March 7 and 9 at MGM Cotai. The pop-up will feature three events.

    The award-winning chef will work with the Executive Sous Chef Homan Tsui of Black Pearl One-Diamond Restaurant Imperial Court and Chef de Cuisine Sihui Pan of Aji for an exclusive eight-course dinner “CHOCOL’ART · Six-hands Degustation Dinner” on March 8.

    Embodying the East-Meets-West culture, the event will present a series of limited-edition culinary delights that showcases the perfect fusion of the tantalizing flavours of cocoa, delicacies, and fine tipples, along with some classic Lingan dishes and cold plates. The six-hands dinner is priced at MOP1,888+ per person, and MOP2,488+ if you want it with wine pairing.

    Part of the three-day event is the “CHOCOL’ART · Masterpiece Afternoon Tea and Pastries,” where guests can have the chance to sample Chef Musa’s winning dessert for the World Pastry Cup, the “Papilio” from March 9 until April 30. This special dessert is made with a chocolate sponge and chocolate cremeux with coconut, passion fruit, mango caramel, and almond crunch, and is priced at MOP 68+.

    If you want a complete experience, you can try the afternoon tea experience for two, which comes with his special afternoon tea set, featuring six different types of sweets and five savoury canapes and is priced at MOP 888+.

    For those who love learning, you can join master classes with Chef Musa to learn about the perfect combination of chocolate and whisky for MOP488+ per person. Happening on March 8 at Grill 58, the “CHOCOL’ART · The Perfect Pairing” will feature five different chocolate pastries to pair with five different whiskies.

    Following its first four successful banquets in 2023, leading hotel and casino operator Melco Resorts & Entertainment is bringing back its “Melco Style Presents: The Black Pearl Diamond Restaurants Gastronomic Series” with six renowned chefs from Black Pearl-winning restaurants.

    Beginning March this year, Melco will host the fifth through seventh instalment of the series with three four-hands collaboration dinners across its properties in Macau.

    Kicking off with the fifth chapter are Chef Angelo Wong from Yi Restaurant at City of Dreams and Chef Lai Xiaohui from Xujiacai at Chengdu with “Sichuan and Canton's Diamond Feast,” to be held on March 9to 10 at Yi.

    It will feature a six-course menu composed of exquisite and authentic Cantonese and Sichuan cuisines.

    Some of the dishes diners can expect at Chef Wong and Chef Xiaohui’s collaboration are Crab Meat and Black Pearl in Fermented Rice Wine, Braised Abalone with Rock Rice, and Oven-Roasted 23 Days Pigeon with Lemon Grass and Sichuan Pepper.     Presenting chapter six are Chinese Chef Honor Award Winner Chef Wang Changrong, and Bi Ying Restaurant’s Chef Yuk Lam with “Huaiyang Diamond Feast.” To be served on April 20 to 21 at Studio City Macau, the banquet will feature a six-course menu that showcases the seasonal flavors and local charm of Huaiyang.

    The dinner is priced at MOP1,588 per person and will include dishes like Lobster and Rice Cracker with Passion Fruit Sauce, Braised Eight Treasures Pork Meat Ball in Premium Soy Sauce, and Steamed Yellow Croaker with Sichuan Pepper and Cured Meat. To book, click here.

    Finally, the seventh chapter will see Chef Guo Qiang from Amico BJ and Chef Safa Rodas from Aurora with “Italian-Japanese Diamond Feast,” serving a unique fusion of Italian and Japanese fares.

    This includes dishes like White Crab Three Ways with Sea Urchin and Caviar, Sea Scallops Confit with Green Asparagus and Five Color Sesame, and Foie Gras Mousse in Savory Cannoli, among others.
