Westlife Is Coming Back to Malaysia on June 9 for the Hits Tour 2024

Following Westlife’s successful two-night concert in February last year, the famous Irish pop boyband is set to come back to Malaysia on June 9 to serenade you once again with their timeless tracks for “The Hits Tour 2024.”

Scheduled to take place at Resorts World Genting, fans can expect to hear their popular hits live and enjoy the night as Kian Egan, Nicky Byrne, and Shane Filan take the stage. In case you’re wondering why we mentioned three names only, Mark Feehily is on hiatus due to health-related issues – nevertheless, you can expect an unforgettable performance.

Fun fact: The venue of the upcoming concert is the same arena the group performed at 24 years ago – talk about nostalgia! Sing the lyrics of their iconic songs like “Uptown Girl”, “My Love”, "Swear It Again", “Flying Without Wings”, and more.

Tickets will be available on April 26 from 12 PM (MYT) onwards via BigTix, BookMyShow, and Resorts World Genting website. Tickets are priced at RM388 (PS4), RM588 (PS3), RM788 (PS2), RM988 (PS1), and RM1,188 (VIP); check the photo below for the seat plan:

Heads up, standup comedy lovers! Prepare to laugh your hearts out, as Asian-American comedienne Atsuko Okatsuka is bringing her first international tour to Kuala Lumpur this July!

Happening on July 25 at the HGH Convention Centre, Okatsuka’s “Full Grown” tour is set to delight fans with standup sets featuring her hilarious punchlines, eccentric humour, and that iconic bowl cut.

Aside from Kuala Lumpur, the “The Intruder” star will also bring her inaugural Asia tour to Hong Kong on July 20, Singapore on July 23, and Jakarta on July 26. She is also set to stage performances in cities across Australia and New Zealand from July to August.

Pre-sale tickets to her Kuala Lumpur show are now available via LOL Asia’s website, with prices starting at RM158. Meanwhile, regular tickets will go on sale starting May 11 at 10 AM.

Okatsuka rose to popularity in 2022 through her debut standup special on HBO, “The Intruder,” which was listed in Vulture’s “Best Comedy Specials of 2022.” She is also the woman behind the popular #DropChallenge on the Internet.

Mark your calendars, music lovers! Good Vibes Festival, one of Malaysia’s biggest music festivals, has announced its return this year.

Slated to take place from July 20 to 21 at the Resorts World Awana, this year’s Good Vibes Festival marks its 11th iteration.

This follows the festival’s controversial 10th anniversary run last year, which was cancelled due to The 1975 frontman Matty Healy’s on-stage kiss with bandmate Ross MacDonald during the band’s headlining set, violating the country’s anti-LGBT laws.

This year's lineup includes headliners Japanese singer-songwriter Joji, American rapper and producer Russ, Colombian act J Balvin, and South Korean DJ Peggy Gou. They will be joined by various artists from in and out of Asia, including South Korea's Bibi, Tiger JK, Yoon Mirae, Filipina singer Ylona Garcia, and Malaysia's very own Talitha., among other names.

Tickets will be available starting May 10 via Ticketmelon, with prices ranging from RM290 to RM1,050.

Launched in 2013, Good Vibes Festival’s inaugural edition was first staged at the Sepang International Circuit in Selangor. Previous editions featured performances from some of the biggest names in music, including Ellie Goulding, SZA, Lorde, CL, and Jackson Wang.

Top Peking Opera 'Love & Bewilderment' Is Coming to Malaysia This July

After nine long years, the world-renowned GuoGuang Opera Company is making its comeback in Malaysia with the premiere of the top Peking opera, “Jingju Magic – Love & Bewilderment,” this July!

To be staged from July 12 to 14 at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPAC), the play will feature an enchanting tale based on the literary classic “Romance of the Three Kingdoms.”

It will be composed of two double bills: “Zhuangzi Tests His Wife,” "Lu Wenlong,” “The Death of Zhou Yu,” and “Guiying’s Accusation of Wang Kuei at the Temple.” These plays will be performed with both English and Mandarin surtitles by a total of 29 actors, catering to both local and international audiences.

To captivate its viewers, the opera also employs martial arts combat scenes and lavish stage set-ups, among many other surprises.

Super early bird tickets are available from now until May 31, with prices starting at RM48. Meanwhile, early bird tickets, with prices starting at RM58, will be available throughout June. Prepare to rave all night to new music this June, as leading beer brand Heineken is set to host its Heineken Refresh music festival, featuring talented DJs and local acts!

Happening on June 15 at the Surf Beach, Sunway Lagoon, this year’s Heineken Refresh will take on the theme, “Refresh Your Music,” encouraging guests to break out of their music bubble by discovering new artists at the festival.

The festival will feature both renowned DJs and up-and-coming musicians from in and out of Malaysia, including Brazilian DJ Alok, making his debut in Malaysia, plus Singapore’s Wukong and Malaysia’s Blink as headliners.

Attendees will also get to witness back-to-back sets from musicians Ashley Lau, Mr. Yang, and MJ, among others.
