Good Vibes Festival 2023: Your Do’s and Don’ts for the Concert
The Good Vibes Festival is near, and this time, they’ll bring out a musical collective that will course correct the rest of your 2023. This year marks the fest’s aluminum anniversary, meaning they’ve been bringing the good vibes for a decade now.
Still, as much as you would want to chill at the Good Vibes Fest, their lineup will incite everything but a quiet mind. Headlining the festival are The Strokes, The 1975, and The Kid Laroi, with a long billing of supporting acts that will bring fire hits to the stage on July 21-23.
They’re yet to complete the artists’ lineup, but so far, here’s the rest of the confirmed appearances:

With this collection of musicians, chances are you won’t be coming down from your high for a few days, and that’s okay. Keep the good vibes going for as long as you can.

Getting to Sepang International Circuit
Grab – open Grab, put Sepang International Circuit as your destination, and you’re good to go. Easiest option, but be wary that you’re going to have to wait for a ride home because there’s a lot of people who’s going to use Grab on their way home, too.
Taxi – we recommend that you take a taxi to KLCC or other central areas, and then hail a cab to take you to the circuit. This is to save you the hassle of pleading drivers to take you to the festival grounds, which is about 50 km from KL.
Drive – while it’s the most preferrable option, it can be tricky if you plan to bring a car to Sepang International Circuit. If you’ve ever been here on a grand prix weekend, you know it can and will be packed. As you have to find your own parking and there’s limited space for cars in the grounds, try to carpool or bring other people with you. This way, people won’t have to go a long way just to park their car.
Food
There will be food on site, so no need to bring your grub, which is a whole lot messier once you have it out of the house. Expect to have plenty of options, including plant-based food for vegans.
You can also bring a mat so if you want to have a picnic since there’s going to be plenty of space in the concert grounds.
Cameras
No big cameras, particularly DSLRs. But, in the event that you have a smartphone (chances are 100% you have a smartphone), it will take good enough photos, will be much easier to carry, and you can put it in your pocket.
If you have compact cameras or disposable film cameras, those are allowed. If you can ensure that these things stay on you safely, then you’ll be able to take much better photos.
Weather
You never know when it’s going to rain in Malaysia, even during July when it’s supposed to be the peak of summer. Knowing that, we won’t advise you to come to the festival grounds wearing a raincoat because when has that ever been a good idea here? A good alternative is to have a small umbrella that you can lace on your belt loops. It’s good for when it gets sunny or rainy, and it’s a lot more comfortable than a jacket.
It’s also not a bad idea to bring a portable fan and sunglasses because if there’s one thing that’s certain, it’s going to be hot.
Clothing
The most underrated part of any festival outfit is shoes. It’s the part of you that’s going to get the most action, as you’re going to be moving, jumping, dancing, walking, and all kinds of things during the event. So, you need something sturdy but comfortable enough for day-long activities. The sturdy part is if it rains, because you’re going to need something that won’t wilt when the day becomes wet.
Other than that, wear your most comfortable top, shorts, leggings, pants, whatever. As long as you can move around with ease, that’s the most important part. If you can, bring extra!
Power Needs
If you have a car, then you can just charge your phones there. But, if you want to keep mobile, bring a powerbank. You definitely don’t need a big one, unless you’re planning on sharing it with your friends. Bring something big enough for you, something that can charge your phone up to three times (or less) that can fit in your pocket.
Miscellaneous
Don’t bring weapons or drugs. We don’t mean to be narcs, but neither of these things will make the concert more fun in any conceivable way. As a substitute, if you want people or Matt of The 1975 to notice you, bring a poster!
