Columbia Pictures’ Aquaverse to Open in Thailand on Oct. 12

The first fully branded Columbia Pictures movie theme park in the world is opening in Thailand this October, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) announced in a press release.

“The opening of Columbia Pictures’ Aquaverse is thrilling news, and it adds another world-class reason to come and enjoy a holiday in Thailand. We are very much looking forward to the park’s much-awaited opening,” TAT Deputy Governor for Marketing and Communications Siripakorn Cheawsamoot said.

Columbia Pictures’ Aquaverse will open on Oct. 12 in Chonburi, replacing the Cartoon Network Amazone Waterpark, which paused operations in March 2020 and officially shut down in 2021. Thailand-based attractions developer Amazon Falls has joined forces with Sony Pictures Entertainment to reimagine the waterpark and create a new theme and waterpark that people of all ages can enjoy.

Guests can expect thrilling rides featuring movie characters from "Ghostbusters," "Jumanji," "Bad Boys," "The Emoji Movie," "Hotel Transylvania," "Zombieland," and many more. There will be themed and immersive zones as well, offering land and water-based attractions, restaurants, and specialty merchandise shops.
